The Punisher won't feature a cameo by Claire Temple or pick up on any threads from The Defenders, but it will have another connection to some of Marvel's Netflix dramas: Turk Barrett.

A photo in SFX Magazine confirms that actor Rob Morgan, who played Turk on Daredevil, Luke Cage and The Defenders, will reprise his role as the small-time crook on the upcoming series.

The character was introduced in the first season of Daredevil, where he worked for crime bosses Vladimir and Anatoly Ranskahov, until he betrayed them and allying himself with Wilson Fisk. After serving some jail time, Barrett returned to Hell's Kitchen to sell guns to criminals fearing Frank Castle. He sold information to Cottonmouth and weapons to Diamondback on Luke Cage, and briefly ran into the hero once again on The Defenders.

In Marvel’s The Punisher, after exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.

Arriving later this year on Netflix, The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Farah Madani, and Paul Schulze as Rawlins, with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio in an undisclosed role.
