Official Press Release

You are invited to take a sneak peek at the Marvel ReCharge Collectible Card Game: Inaugural Edition via a brand-new Flash web-site (www.marvel.com/recharge)! At the site, which will be updated in continuous support of the game, you'll find a reference guide to walk you through the basic game mechanic, as well as online rules, a sample game, and a FAQ section. A feedback feature will soon be added to field your e-mail questions. You can also access this site by going to www.marvel.com and clicking on the ReCharge icon on the left.

Retailers serviced by Diamond Comics Distributors will soon be receiving P.O.P. posters promoting the game via Diamond Dateline. In addition, all ReCharge distributors have also been sent sample decks to preview this game in advance of its November 2001 release. If you are a member of the press and are interested in receiving a sample deck, please send your request to recharge@marvel.com, and include your name, media outlet, e-mail address, telephone number, and mailing address.

You can also e-mail recharge@marvel.com with the above info if your media outlet would like access to our ReCharge online style guide, which allows you to download images. Please specify in your e-mail if you would like access to the online style guide.

"Since the product is not going to be in stores until November, this web-site provides a sneak preview of a game that has been the subject of much speculation and anticipation," ReCharge Product Manager, Jennifer Lee explained. "This web-site will be retailers' gateway into learning how to play this fun and addictive game. Marvel and gaming fans who don't have a sample deck can still get a tantalizing taste of the gameplay via a sample demo game that shows the rules right along side the hand."

"The beautiful thing about this game is its simplicity," Lee continued. "The ReCharge game mechanic echoes classic card games such as poker and gin, and as a result, it's very easy to pick up. But as anyone who has lost a poker game can tell you, easy-to-pick-up does not automatically translate into easy-to-master. That's when strategy becomes key, and the seasoned gamers with good instincts will ultimately win over newbies every time."
