Gazillion Entertainment is now taking signups for the "Marvel Heroes" MMORPG closed betaFans of comic books are about to get a major dose of online multiplayer action.

Today, Gazillion Entertainment has announced it will be kick off a closed beta for its forthcoming MMORPG/action game "Marvel Heroes." The beta begins October 1, and users everywhere will be able to select from a cavalcade of Marvel Comics heroes as they attempt to take the streets of Hell's Kitchen back from the clutches of the evil Doctor Doom who possesses the devastating Cosmic Cube.

Gazillion recently previewed the game to the public just over a week ago at the PAX Prime event in Seattle, where users were able to check out the online action it had to offer. They also had the opportunity to try out several new characters introduced in the game, including Daredevil, the Punisher and the fan favorite Squirrel Girl. They join such mainstream heroes as Spider-Man, Iron Man and others in action in the game created by David Brevik, creator of the hit online RPG's "Diablo" and "Diablo II." Stay tuned to CBR News for a one-on-one interview with Brevik about "Marvel Heroes" soon.

What's more, Gazillion has also announced that they are accepting sign-ups for the beta. By visiting the "Marvel Heroes" home page at http://www.marvelheroes.com, users can register for a chance to take part in testing for the game. There's no charge to take part, and only a minimal amount of space required on your PC to run the beta.

Though "Marvel Heroes" doesn't have an official launch date yet, it's expected to be released in full in early 2013.
