The Avenger Blade will be a part of Marvel's Darkhold event, transforming him into something much more feral than a simple vampire hunter.

Steve Orlando and Cian Tormey are the creative team on Darkhold Alpha #1, the opening salvo of the mystical Marvel event. Scarlet Witch and Doctor Doom must work together to keep the Darkhold text from wrecking the Marvel Universe. Darkhold: Blade #1 by writer Daniel Kibblesmith and artist Federico Sabbatini is one of the tie-in one-shots continuing the story, along with Darkhold: Iron Man #1 by writer Ryan North and artist Guillermo Sanna.

When Blade reads from the Darkhold, he attempts to enter Chthon's dimension to save the Multiverse. However, his fate is forever changed as he rules over vampires, who have taken over the world. Character designs by Tormey feature Blade, who almost looks part-vampire and part-werewolf with his elongated limbs.

The Darkhold: Blade #1 goes on sale Oct. 27 from Marvel Comics.
