Disney and Marvel Studios have delayed the release of Black Widow indefinitely amid growing coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

In early March, Disney was reportedly adamant about not pushing Black Widow's release date. However, the severity of the pandemic has escalated since then, and the Mouse House has similarly delayed the releases of Mulan and The New Mutants.

As for in-progress projects, Disney has also delayed production on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten RingsThe Last DuelNightmare AlleyPeter Pan & WendyShrunkLokiWandaVision and more.

Of course, the delay of Black Widow is hardly unexpected at this juncture. In addition to Disney pulling Mulan and The New Mutants from its release schedule, Universal Pictures pushed the release date for F9 -- arguably the studio's most profitable franchise -- nearly one full year. That film, like Black Widow, was also originally slated to hit theaters in May.

Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Rick Mason and Rachel Weisz as Melina. The film is currently without a release date.
