If you've been reading comics for any length of time, you know that eventually you'll need somewhere to put them. For decades, that's resulted in tens of thousands of collectors hiding their prized possessions in drab, off-white boxes. Well, those days are over, true believers.

Marvel's December solicitations come with the announcement of a new line of graphic comic boxes, sleek illustrated versions of the classic "shortboxes" many fans use to store their collections. The first box features the Champions, the post-"Civil War II" group comprised of Ms. Marvel, Nova, Viv Vision, Young Cyclops, Miles Morales' Spider-Man and the Totally Awesome Hulk, Amadeus Cho. The box art uses a modified version of Humberto Ramos' cover art from the series' first issue, which ships October 5.

Spotlighting the Champions may not be the most obvious choice for the debut of a new product line, but it does allow Marvel to show off versions of many popular characters and teams -- Cyclops representing the X-Men, Hulk for the Avengers, Miles as Spider-Man, and Ms. Marvel as one of comics' most adored new characters. It's also a strong vote of confidence in the forthcoming series, which is illustrated by Ramos and written by acclaimed "Daredevil" scribe Mark Waid, continuing from his run on the previous"All New, All Different Avengers" book.

At 15 1/2 inches long, these boxes should hold about 200 comics.
