Mark Strong Eyes Low Winter Sun

Mark Strong, who starred in the 2006 BBC drama Low Winter Sun, is in talks to reprise his role in AMC’s U.S. adaptation, Deadline reports.

Described as “a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption,” Low Winter Sun centers on the murder of a police officer by a fellow Detroit detective (Strong), a crime that draws him into the heart of the city’s underworld. Written by Chris Mundy (Criminal Minds, Cold Case), who will also serve as showrunner, the pilot is based on the original two-part miniseries.

Strong, who recently appeared in John Carter, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Green Lantern, would join James Ransone (The Wire, Generation Kill), who’s set to play a member of the Detroit criminal syndicate.
