As the breakout star of The Avengers, it's no surprise that Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner has even more to do in the upcoming Marvel sequel, Age of Ultron.

"[My role's] even bigger than last time," the actor told Total Film recently, "and it's more complex and it has more layers and a bit more arc."

Ruffalo's comments jibe with what others have said about not just Hulk, but Hawkeye as well.

"Part of the fun of Age of Ultron was saying, you’ve seen another Iron Man adventure before, you see another Thor adventure and another Cap adventure, but we haven’t seen the Green Goliath again," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told JoBlo.com earlier this year. "So that was important in the characters you haven’t seen – Hulk being one of them and Hawkeye being one of them – Ultron will make up for it. They have very big parts in Age of Ultron."

As for what Ruffalo's "bigger" role entails, who can say? It sounds like the Oscar-nominated actor is knee-deep in the motion-capture world once again, at the very least.

"I'm really tripping on the technology of this motion-capture stuff," he said. "Now I just completely embrace it and see it as this other exciting place we can go as performers."

Directed by Joss Whedon, The Avengers: Age of Ultron arrives May 1, 2015.
