Though multiple adaptations of his comic books are in the works at Netflix, Mark Millar is busy working on a new comic book series and its TV adaptation.Though details about the series are scarce, Millar confirmed it is a high-concept spy series that is different from his work on the Kingsman series. "We're hard at work on a six-episode live-action spy series right now, my first since Kingsman, but a very different kind of property," Millar told Netflix. "The writer is someone I've been a massive fan of for two decades, and he was the only person I approached. This has the potential to be one of the biggest franchises I've ever created."RELATED: The Magic Order: Millarworld Comic Gets Two New Series in 2021

Millar first entered the spy genre with The Secret Service, a six-issue miniseries he co-created with Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons. The Secret Service serves as the basis for Kingsman: The Secret Service and its sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Matthew Vaughn, who directed both Kingsman films, will also helm the prequel film The King's Man. Centered on the origin of the Kingsman organization, The King's Man has been delayed multiple times due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Netflix purchased the rights to Millarworld in 2017, intending to develop a variety of films and television shows based on its comic books. The first of these adaptations, Jupiter's Legacy, is now streaming on Netflix.
