Although Donald Trump jokingly proclaimed "I am Batman!" in 2015, Mark Hamill thinks the president-elect sounds more like another resident of Gotham.

Trump recently drew jeers for a tweet in which he wished "Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don't know what to do," a message of "love" that one observer noted "sounds like something the Joker would say right before releasing a swarm of killer bees into Gotham." Now Hamill, the voice of the Clown Prince of Crime in animation and video games for the better part of 25 years, has put that to the test with a recording of himself reciting Trump's tweet as the Joker:

The laugh at the end, followed by the creepy "Love!," may be the clincher. Fans of Hamill's Joker -- and probably more than a few Trump detractors -- undoubtedly hope the actor will post more recordings.

Trump ran afoul of the Dark Knight himself, actor Kevin Conroy, following his 2015 "I am Batman!" declaration. Conroy, who first voiced the Caped Crusader in "Batman: The Animated Series," was quick to set the record straight: “I hear a guy with a big mouth & bad hair running for president claims to be Batman. Let’s be clear he is NOT Batman!”

In September 2016, Conroy posted a video in which he labeled Trump "a xenophobic, narcissistic clown," and endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.
