SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL
It seems Jor-El isn’t the only “Man of Steel” character sporting facial hair. The gossip site Socialite Life (via Collider) has a few photos of star Henry Cavil with a beard and a down-on-his-luck coat:
Maybe he’s trying to get to the League of Shadows mountain fortress, too.
Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: June 14th 2013
If you follow the goings on of Mark Millar, the following news will come as no surprise, but Spinoff Online reports that the writer’s comic book “Superior” has been optioned to his filmmaking pal Matthew Vaughn. The story follows a boy with MS who turns into his favorite comic book hero. “I’m acutely aware of the unexpected way the disease can strike anyone and the enormous difficulties it can cause. Superhero stories are essentially wish-fulfillment fantasies and nothing seemed more powerful to me than a little boy with a magic wish not only wanting to WALK again, but to FLY,” said Millar in a statement. He also shares the character with The MS Society, so it’s not all cash and grandstanding on this one.

Taylor Kitsch tells MTV News that “The Wolverine” has no room for Gambit:
And that’s as close as you’re going to get to a young star admiting he did sub-par work.
Release date: 2012?
Variety reports that director Baltasar Kormakur is in negotiations to re-team with star/producer Mark Wahlberg in the adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic book. The two first worked together on the upcoming “Contraband.”

The lads at Comic Book Movie note a recent batch domain name purchase (first reported at Stitch Kingdom) by Disney Music Group, including these curious Top Level Domains: “drstrangesoundtrack.com” and “drstrangesoundtrack.net.” Granted, it could just be a pre-emptive strike, but as CBM notes, it could mean something. Or, it could just be a plate full of mashed potatoes. (Chime in on Facebook if you get the reference)
Release date: TBA
While promoting “The Three Musketeers”, Orlando Bloom tells Collider a little bit about his work on “The Hobbit” thus far:
Release date: December 14th, 2012 & December 13th, 2013
According to Spinoff Online, the live “Walking Dead” post-game show wants your questions. All comers should go to this page on AMC’s site and add their query in the comments section. Sadly, I’ll doubt they’ll answer my question: “Do we really need a live ‘Walking Dead’ post-game show?”
Premieres: October 16th, 2011
A CAGED SCARECROW
Somewhere in the Multiverse, there is a fifth Batman movie directed by Joel Schumacher that features Nic Cage as the Scarecrow. How do I know? Schumacher said as much to The Playlist about his plans for “Batman Triumphant.” He also admits “Batman and Robin” was a mistake. “I did my job. It was more family friendly and it sold a lot of toys, and it supported the Warner Bros. stores. But I did disappoint a lot of fans,” he says. Much like how I feel cheated never getting to see Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face, I want to see Nicolas Cage as Scarecrow. Also, “Batman Triumphant” is an excellent name for a Batman movie. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of Nic Cage in “Green Acres.”
