Jessica Chastain is queen of movie mountain, towering over stalwarts like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Russell Crowe and Mark Wahlberg. The recent Golden Globe winner has two films in theaters, both of which led the North American box office over the weekend.

Topping the heap was Mama, the Guillermo del Toro-produced Universal horror film, which brought in $28.1 million. Chastain's other picture, Kathryn Bigelow's controversial Zero Dark Thirty, earned $17.6 million in its second week of wide release.

The third and fourth spots went to Silver Linings Playbook and Gangster Squad, with $11.4 million and $9.11 million each. Broken City, the thriller starring Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones, came in fifth with $9 million. The only other movie to open this weekend, Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand, ranked 10th with $6.3 million.

While those movies will make a little bit more money today with some people in the United States having Martin Luther King Day off, most Hollywood eyes are looking ahead to this weekend, which will see the release of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, the Jason Statham crime thriller Parker and the comedy short compilation Movie 43.
