Disney is getting into full swing with director Jon Favreau's live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book, with Heat Vision reporting the studio is in negotiations with Scarlett Johansson and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o for major roles.

Nyong'o is close to finalizing a part as Rakcha, the wolf that takes in the orphaned Mowgli, while Johansson is in talks to play Kaa, the python that uses hypnosis to capture prey.

The Disney film, which will combine live-action and CGI elements, already announced Idris Elba's role as the voice of villainous tiger Shere Khan.

The Jungle Book is slated for an Oct. 9, 2015 release.
