Lost producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz danced around the question when asked at Disney's D23 fan expo whether any actors from the ABC series might appear in their new fairy-tale drama Once Upon a Time, teasing, "we’ll see." But now we know the answer is an unambiguous yes.

TVLine reports that veteran actor Alan Dale, better known as Lost's wealthy industrialist Charles Widmore, will appear in the "really pivotal role" of the father of Josh Dallas' Prince Charming. It's just for one episode, but Horowitz tells the website that "we’re leaving the door open for a larger tale to potentially tell with him.”

Premiering Oct. 23 on ABC, Once Upon a Time follows Jennifer Morrison (House) as a bail-bonds collector with a mysterious past who’s led to town where fairy-tale characters have been sentenced to lead an ordinary existence with no memories of their extraordinary natures. It also stars Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love) as Snow White and Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting) as Rumplestiltskin.
