David Green, whose low-budget sci-fi movie Echo opens in January, has been tapped to replace Barry Sonnenfeld on the Warner Bros. adaptation of IDW Publishing's Lore. Dwayne Johnson has been attached to star since April 2012.

Created by Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise, the 2003 miniseries focuses on a secret agency that protects the unwitting world from monsters of legend intent on humanity's destruction. Circle of Confusion and Andrew Lazar’s Warner Bros.-based Mad Chance acquired the rights to the project in 2010, and tapped Cory Goodman (Priest) and Jeremy Lott to write the screenplay.

Warner Bros. began negotiating with Sonnenfeld in September 2012, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, but the two couldn't agree on a budget. However, the Men in Black director apparently will receive an executive producer credit.
