Entertainment Weekly has revealed a new photo from Patty Jenkins' upcoming "Wonder Woman" solo film, this one featuring the cast's Amazonian warriors. The image includes Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, as well as her mother Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) as well as her aunts General Antiope (Robin Wright) and Lieutenant Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli).

In the image's accompanying interview, Jenkins speaks to Diana's role as the only child on the all-female island. "She is the only child they raised together," said the director. "And their love for her manifests in a different way for each of them." The article mentions that a number of exotic islands off the coasts of Italy and southern China will be used to create Themyscira in the film.

"Themyscira is influenced by the Greek but it's clearly more then that," said producer Charles Roven. "It's a place that has the 'you've never been to' kind of feel. But once you're there you're not so sure you really want to leave so fast."

Jenkins also spoke about their armor, which was designed by Lindy Hemming, saying that they "shouldn't be dressed in armor like men. It should be different. It should be authentic and real -- and appealing to women." The armor includes high heels, which Jenkins defended calling it "total wish-fulfillment" and clarifying that they do wear flats to fight.

"I, as a woman, want Wonder Woman to be hot as hell, fight badass, and look great at the same time -- the same way men want Superman to have huge pecs and an impractically big body," said Jenkins. "That makes them feel like the hero they want to be. And my hero, in my head, has really long legs."

"Wonder Woman" arrives in theaters on June 23, 2017.
