LOOK: Marvel Debuts New “Civil War II” Art From Free Comic Book Day Offerings

Marvel has released a new look at their Free Comic Book Day offerings this year. The publisher’s offerings on May 7th will include “FCBD Civil War II” #1 and “FCBD Captain America” #1, both of which will feature only brand new content. The former will kick off Marvel’s big summer event, “Civil War II” and the latter will reintroduce Steve Rogers as Captain America again.

Additionally, Marvel has reported that their FCBD orders have totaled nearly 1 million units. “Year after year, Free Comic Book Day has proven to be one of our most successful tools for engaging fans and the industry with things on the horizon for the Marvel Universe,” said Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso in the announcement. “With Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’ film hitting theaters that same weekend, we’re excited to give fans a peek into the upcoming ‘Civil War II’ comic event as well as the new ‘Captain America: Steve Rogers’ series. Plus some exciting happenings for ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ and ‘All-New, All-Different Avengers.'”

“FCBD Civil War II” #1 will feature a lead story by Brian Michael Bendis and Jim Cheung as well as a back-up by Mark Waid and Alan Davis that sees the debut of the all-new Wasp. “FCBD Captain America” #1 comes from Nick Spencer and Jesus Saiz; that issue’s back-up story comes from Dan Slott and Javier Garron and previews “Amazing Spider-Man’s” upcoming “Dead No More” storyline.
