Megalyn E.K. -- the new preferred credit for Megalyn Echikunwoke -- transitions from CW Seed's animated "Vixen" series to live action in the just-released first official photo of Vixen in costume from The CW's "Arrow." E.K. will reprise her role as DC Comics hero Mari McCabe in this season's 15th episode.

"We're not only thrilled to be further expanding our DC television universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of the CW Seed hit, Vixen, we're immensely excited that Megalyn will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe," "Arrow" co-showrunner and executive producer Marc Guggenheim said in an earlier statement.

Live-Action "Vixen" Series A Possibility Says CW President

Yesterday, "Arrow" star Stephen Amell asked fans to welcome E.K. to the show with a behind-the-scenes photo. The photo focused tightly on both of their faces, offering only a glimpse of the black-and-yellow Vixen costume.

"Vixen" Renewed For Second Season on CW Seed

In the animated series as well as the comics, Mari McCabe -- a.k.a. Vixen -- has the power to mimic the abilities of animals thanks to an amulet passed down through her family. Amell and "The Flash" star Grant Gustin lent their voices to the animated series, so Vixen was able to tangle with both Green Arrow and the Flash; it is unclear at this time if that relationship will carry over into the live-action "Arrow." The character was created by Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner, and first appeared in 1981's "Action Comics" #521.

"Arrow" airs 8 p.m. Wednesdays on The CW.
