Created in the '70s by Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima, Lone Wolf and Cub tells the story of a shogun's executioner named Itto Ogami, who is on a path for revenge after the death of his wife and the remainder of his house, with only his infant son Daigoro left alive. Ogami trains Daigoro over the years to be a fearsome warrior. As assassins for hire, they travel the country looking for the clan who slaughtered their family. By the end of the manga's run, it had reached nearly 9,000 pages overall and spawned a TV series, plays and several movies.

In addition to directing, Lin and his Perfect Storm banner will produce the film alongside Kamala Films and Marissa McMahon. No other information, such as a cast or release date, has been set.
