Lois Meets Superman in New “Man of Steel” Clip

With the premiere of director Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” just nine days away, the already-inescapable promotional campaign for the Warner Bros. franchise reboot — how many TV spots have there been? — has really kicked into high gear.

Following Amy Adams’ appearance Tuesday on “Ellen” to debut the first clip from the film, the Academy Award nominee stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to introduce the second, this one featuring part of the interrogation-room scene that by now should be familiar to anyone who’s seen the trailers and television commercials.

In the clip, Adams’ Lois Lane speaks to a handcuffed Superman (Henry Cavill), who has surrendered himself to the U.S. military. “You let them handcuff you?” she asks. “It wouldn’t be much of a surrender,” he responds. “And if it makes them feel more secure, then …” The conversation moves from there to the often-repeated exchange about the meaning of his “S” emblem.

Opening June 14, “Man of Steel” also stars Michael Shannon as Zod, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Ayelet Zurer as Lara Lor-Van, Antje Traue as Faora, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, Michael Kelly as Steve Lombard and Richard Schiff as Dr. Emil Hamilton.

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
