"Plutona," the Image Comics miniseries by Jeff Lemire and Emi Lenox, is being developed for film.

The coming-of-age story, which debuted in September 2015, centers on a group of suburban kids who stumble across the body of the world's greatest superhero, and then struggle with the fallout of their decision to keep their discovery a secret.

According to Deadline, the film rights were acquired by Waypoint Entertainment, which this spring snatched up "American Jesus" by Mark Miller and Peter Gross, and "Supercrooks" by Millar and Leinil Francis Yu.

Waypoint's Ken Kao and Dan Kao will produce "Plutona" with Addictive Pictures' Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder under a first-look deal.

"Descender," the sci-fi comic by Lemire and Dustin Nguyen, is also in development at Sony Pictures.
