Like last season, DC's Legends of Tomorrow will get ganged up on in Season 3. According to IGN, the upcoming third season of Legends will feature another team of supervillains, though the showrunners played coy about the identity of the team's leader.

"At the head of whatever you want to call our evil organization, it's different. Last year it was three characters from the three different shows that form this alliance. This is a non-human entity," executive producer Phil Klemmer revealed during the Television Critics Association press tour. "This is a much more supernatural, spooky vibe this season. We're dealing more with magic. It's less real-world bad guys." He added that the character will be revealed in the first episode of Season 3, which will "be more in the world of the occult and monsters" as a whole.

Of course, with this many mentions of magic and the occult, the question of Constantine naturally comes up. According to the report, Klemmer said the show is "actively campaigning" for Matt Ryan to reprise the role on the series. This echoes a similar statement from executive producer Marc Guggenheim from the show's panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

What's more, Arrow's Damien Darhk will take on a leadership role within this mysterious organization. "Damien Darhk is going to be the leader of this group in the way Thawne was sort of the boss last year for the Legion of Doom. This group is distinctly led up by Damien," Guggenheim said. "We have a fun way to bring him back that kind of plays into the season-long mythology."

As previously announced, Gorilla Grodd will also have a role to play in Legends Season 3. "It will be a version of him that we have not met yet on any of the shows. It will be the most evolved and powerful form of Grodd. We're actually breaking the episode now." This version of Grodd will pick up after his defeat in The Flash episode "Attack on Central City," where he was left captured on Earth-1 thanks to a team up between Team Flash and Gorilla City’s Solovar. Legends will play up the sympathetic side of Grodd's character, so much so that one of the Legends will ultimately "take the bait."

Premiering on the CW on Tuesday, October 10, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’s third season will star Arthur Darvill a s Rip Hunter, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer, Nick Zano as Nick Heywood, Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein and Franz Drameh as Jefferson “Jax” Jackson.
