Discerning readers continue to flock to Alan Moore’s and Kevin O’Neill’s THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN VOLUME II , as DC Comics announces that the second issue of this critically acclaimed, limited-run periodical has, like its predecessor, sold out at the publisher.
But fear not, gentle reader! A plan is afoot, one in which these issues will remain in print in a copiously titled edition called THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN VOLUME II: BUMPER COMPENDIUM EDITION PARTS 1 AND 2. This redoubtable tome is scheduled to reach stores on October 16.
Containing 48-pages, this special collects the lead stories from THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN VOLUME II #1 and 2 with a cover by O’Neill. As in the original THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN: BUMPER COMPENDIUM EDITIONS, this new collection eschews the series’ back-up features or other material.
“Alan and Kevin established an incredibly high level of quality in the
first LEAGUE miniseries, and they’ve maintained that – maybe even improved on it – in the new series,” says Group Editor Scott Dunbier. “I mean, I’ve already seen what they have in store for the team in upcoming issues, and all I can say is you’re going to be as surprised and amazed as I was!”
Future issues of THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN VOLUME II are
available as follows:
* Issue #3 (JUL020232) is available for advance reorder with an in
store date of September 25.
* Issue #4 (AUG020281) is solicited in the August issue of Previews
(VOLUME XII #8) is now scheduled to be in stores on November 20.
In addition, DC reminds retailers that the swiftly-selling THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN BOOK ONE TP (STAR16504) is available yet for reorder.
THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN VOLUME II: BUMPER COMPENDIUM EDITION PARTS 1 AND 2 (AUG025060) is a 48-page one-shot with a price of $5.95 and an in store date of October 16.
