Released today, DC Comics' January 2014 solicitations revealed a new crossover storyarc in the works for the Bat-family beginning in the anthology-style "Detective Comics" #27 by John Layman with art by Jason Fabok. "Gothtopia" begins with Layman and Fabok's "Detective Comics" contribution and progresses through January's issues of "Batgirl," "Batwing," "Birds of Prey" and "Catwoman." Judging by the solicitation copy, the arc appears to be an alternate reality story that takes place in "a bright, shiny, happy place where dreams come true...as long as you don't look at things too closely."

From the details in the solicits, we can take away the following: Batwing is currently the protector of Gotham City, Batgirl has a different costume (and teams up with a villain named Knightfall who tried to kill Jim Gordon), the Birds of Prey are on a mission to take down Ra's al Ghul and Catwoman goes by the name Catbird, fighting crime as the Dark Knight's partner.

Check out the solicitations and covers for the "Gothtopia" crossover below.
