Despite the polarizing fan reception to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, writer/director Rian Johnson has remained fairly positive when it comes to handling backlash on social media. In fact, in many cases, he responds by fighting fire with humor, as evidenced by his reply to a fan questioning Leia's controversial Force abilities.Still, despite his own celebrity status, even Johnson couldn't help himself from getting starstruck when adult film star Stormy Daniels, whom President Donald Trump allegedly had an affair with in 2006, expressed her dissatisfaction with the latest chapter of the Star Wars saga.RELATED: Rian Johnson Reveals His Early, Wild Ideas for Rey’s ParentageDaniels took to Twitter on December 17, two days after the release of The Last Jedi, and although she didn't mention the film directly, her message of "Fuck you Rian Johnson" makes it abundantly clear what she thought of it. However, she failed to tag the director in her tweet, so it seems as though Johnson only recently caught wind of Daniels' critique. In any case, Johnson's response, which is nothing more than a starstruck emoji, is as much sarcastic as it is telling of Daniels' newfound 15 minutes of fame.

According to The Wall Street Journal, it's alleged that in October 2016, just before the presidential election, Trump's personal lawyer paid Daniels $130,000 in "hush" money to deny having an affair with the now-Commander-in-Chief in 2006. Ever since this revelation surfaced, Daniels' celebrity status -- once exclusive to the world of adult entertainment -- has gone nationwide, and while it's certainly under troubling circumstances, other big names in Hollywood have taken notice of Johnson's viral tweet.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn and Logan director James Mangold have each concurred that the online exchange was "Amazing," while Star Wars Development Executive, Film & TV Pablo Hidalgo insisted Johnson "Hold out for $130,000." A Wrinkle in Time Ava DuVernaydirector and Ant-Man & The Wasp Peyton Reeddirector chimed in, as well, with the latter positing that perhaps Daniels was simply mad about Johnson bringing back puppet Yoda.

Even Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill seemed to be impressed.
