In Kingsman: The Secret Service, Colin Firth's fan-favorite character Harry Hart seemed to meet his end towards the climax of the movie. However, as seen in the promotional material for the sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Harry is alive and kicking -- and making a comeback. Speaking to ScreenRant, Firth revealed that the conversation regarding his shock return happened during the production of the first movie.

“The conversation never really stopped," Firth explained. "The first shoot was a long one and then conversations were carrying on after the film was finished and before I knew it, it was coming out and we were doing press together and by that point we were already talking about number two and Matthew [Vaughn] had pretty much made up his mind that I would could back one way or another. So it feels like one long continuous process really."

Director Matthew Vaughn recently explained that he feels as though the Kingsman franchise could be a trilogy, with a potential for spinoffs from the main series. If this happens, we could see much more of Firth as Harry. "I think there’s a story in my head which will be finished by the end of the next one,” Vaughn said at the time. “And then after that then, of course, there could be Statesman movies, there could be spinoff character films. The universe could continue with new agents. Or, you know, Colin [Firth] could become Arthur… or new characters could come in. Or new kids get trained. There’s so many options, but I also think it’s better not to be too greedy.”

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, Kingsman: The Golden Circle stars returning cast members Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Sophie Cookson, joined by Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Elton John, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges. The film opens Sept. 22.
