Although he has left the door open to the return of Jack Bauer, Kiefer Sutherland says it won't occur in Fox's franchise reboot "24: Legacy."

“There are absolutely no plans for that,” the actor, who's now the star of ABC's "Designated Survivor," told Deadline at the network's Television Critics Association party.

"Legacy" stars Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton”) as a former Army Ranger who’s pulled back into action when is past comes looking for him. He eventually turns to CTU for help in saving his life and stopping a large-scale terrorist attack.

Producer Howard Gordon had suggested in June that a guest appearance by Bauer remained on the table, saying, "I do think the character has life in him, whether it’s a movie or if he intersects with this new iteration of 24. I sure would love to see him at some point on the show, and I don’t think he’s ruled it out, either.”

Also starring Miranda Otto, Jimmy Smits, Anna Diop, Teddy Sears and Ashely Thomas, "24: Legacy" premieres Feb. 5 on Fox.
