Kid Beowulf Movie Trailer to Debut at WONDERCON

Official Press Release

The Kid Beowulf Trailer is set to make an exclusive debut at this weekend’s
Wondercon comics convention in San Francisco. Hot on the heels of the release of
the Kid Beowulf graphic novel, comes an exciting movie trailer highlighting the
new graphic novel series about a childhood gone heroic!

The trailer introduces readers to Beowulf and Grendel, 12-year-old twin brothers
who are destined for greatness as they travel to distant lands and meet fellow
epic heroes therein. Directed by Alexis E. Fajardo (series creator) and animated
by Brian Kolm, the Kid Beowulf trailer is four minutes of action-packed hilarity,
filled with exciting images from the book, a thunderous score, and brand new
animation, all meant to create new fans of the comic book series.

“When I draw these stories I see the characters moving in my head, so the idea of
animating them in some form just came naturally,” Fajardo said. “More important
is being able to show Kid Beowulf to as broad an audience as possible; I’ll do
whatever I can to get someone to pick up the book–a movie trailer seemed liked a
good enticement.”

Distilled in the four minute trailer is the full story-arc for the Kid Beowulf
graphic novel series. As outlined in the trailer’s map sequence, Kid Beowulf is
an adventure series about traveling to different countries and through different
mythologies. “It’s basically a road picture,” explains Fajardo. “Through twists
and turns, Beowulf and Grendel end up traveling througout Europe and Asia, falling
into adventures that center around each country’s epic poem. By encountering
other heroes, Beowulf and Grendel start to understand their own roles as epic
characters and what they are ultimately destined for.”

The trailer takes the daring duo up to book 7, but Fajardo says he’s got at least
12 different stories he’s eager to tell. “I’d love to do a trailer for each
book,” says Fajardo. “Maybe by the time I’m through with the series I’ll have
enough material for a half-hour short!”

With all the Hollywood hype at this year’s Wondercon, Kid Beowulf may walk off
with a three picture deal.

The Kid Beowulf trailer will make its this weekend at Wondercon; it will also be
available for IPOD and online viewing. Kid Beowulf is a 170 page B&W graphic
novel, published through Lexpress Books and is available at fine comic specialty
stores. For more information please visit: www.kidbeowulf.com
