If the footage director Matthew Vaughan shot of “Kick-Ass” Thursday night in Toronto is any indication, fans of Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.’s smash hit ICON series are in for quite a treat when the film adaptation is released sometime later next year.

CBR News visited the “Kick-Ass” set last night and watched newcomer Aaron Johnson deliver the line, “I’m Kick-Ass,” in full regalia after taking on three thugs in a donut shop parking lot with the perfect blend of authority and teen spirit that is required to bring Dave Lizewski to life on the big screen.

Vaughan also shared clips of 11-year old Chloë Moretz kicking ass as Hit Girl and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (a.k.a. McLovin’) decked out as Red Mist.

Due to embargo, CBR News is limited in what we can share just yet, but we can tell you filming in Toronto wrapped today and moves to London, England Monday for another five weeks of photography.
