With production set to begin next month on Kick-Ass 2, director Jeff Wadlow is quickly assembling the supporting cast for the sequel to the 2010 superhero comedy.
A day after news surfaced that Jim Carrey has been approached to play Colonel Stars, Heat Vision reports October Road actress Lindy Booth has been cast as Night-Bitch, a member Justice Forever who became a costumed vigilante after discovering her sister’s body in a dumpster.
Based on Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.’s miniseries and the Hit-Girl spinoff, the film picks up months after the original, as Kick-Ass forms alliances with other local heroes and joins Justice Forever, which discovers the Red Mist — rechristened “Motherfucker” — is gathering his own group of villains.
Booth joins returning cast members Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Yancy Butler, along with new additions John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Morris Chestnut and Robert Emms. Heat Vision’s sources contend the chances are slim that Carrey will accept the role of the Colonel.
Kick-Ass 2 opens June 28, 2013.
