Director Kevin Smith is returning to National City with the announcement that he will direct another episode of the CW's Supergirl.Smith made the announcement through a tweet on Monday afternoon, adding that he was in Vancouver, where the show films. Also featured in the tweet was a production draft for an episode from the show's upcoming season.

The draft in his tweet shows that Smith will be directing the fifth episode of season three. The episode is written by Eric Carrasco and Cindy Lichtman, who each have multiple writing credits on the show.

Of course, this won't be Smith's first trip to National City. He directed two episodes in the show's second season -- "Supergirl Lives" and "Distant Son," which were the ninth and the 17th episodes of the season, respectively.

Things are expected to change for the show this year. Co-creator and co-showrunner Ali Adler is departing the series, with Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner promoted to replace her. They will serve as co-showrunners alongside Andrew Kreisberg.

The third season of Supergirl is set to debut on October 9, 2017.
