After a brief cameo appearance in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is set to return to the high seas for the franchise's fourth installment.

In an article highlighting the rocker's new autobiography "Life," Reuters briefly mentions that Richards is on board for more Pirates action in director Rob Marshall's latest entry in the series, titled Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Richards will presumably reprise his role as Captain Teague, a former Pirate Lord, current keeper of the Pirate Codex and the father of the delightfully eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow.

In the past, Johnny Depp has said that his take on Jack Sparrow is based largely on Richards, leading to the musician's initial casting in the series. But his appearance in the third Pirates film was all-too-brief; while I'm still not sold on the prospect of a fourth movie, the opportunity to spend more time with Richards as Teague is certainly appealing.
