Keanu Reeves knows two things: (1) kung fu, and (2) that television is where it's at right now.

Given that knowledge, Reeves is applying his combat skills to the small screen, signing on to executive produce and star in Slingshot Global Media's Rain, a new TV project based on novels written by Barry Eisler.

Described as "a globe-trotting action drama," Rain focuses on a half-Japanese, half-American assassin named John Rain, who kills his targets and makes it look like they died of natural causes. John Rain appears in several of Eisler's novels, and he abides by Leon the Professional's central rule of "no women, no children."

In a press release, Reeves said of joining Rain: "As a huge fan of Barry’s work, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to bring his iconic character and incredible world to life."
