It's been a few years since Keanu Reeves last got his knuckles dirty on the big screen. That's something the Matrix star is looking to remedy this year, however, with a pair of martial-arts action movies in the works, both of which have received new trailers. Man of Tai Chi, Reeves' directorial debut, already bowed in China, Indonesia and the Philippines, and will be out on VOD in Sept. 27 and in select theaters on Nov. 1.

And the official description:

Set in modern Beijing, MAN OF TAI CHI marks Keanu Reeves' directorial debut. The film, also starring Reeves, follows the spiritual journey of a young martial artist (played by Tiger Chen) whose unparalleled Tai Chi skills land him in a highly lucrative underworld fight club. As the fights intensify, so does his will to survive.

Additionally, Reeves is starring in 47 Ronin, which takes a more historical and fantastical approach. The latest trailer, which looks and sounds Russian to us, shows off a lot more of Reeves' demonic and monstrous opponents.

Here's the official synopsis:

From ancient Japan's most enduring tale, the epic 3D fantasy-adventure "47 Ronin" is born. Keanu Reeves leads the cast as Kai, an outcast who joins Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), the leader of the 47 Ronin. Together they seek vengeance upon the treacherous overlord who killed their master and banished their kind. To restore honor to their homeland, the warriors embark upon a quest that challenges them with a series of trials that would destroy ordinary warriors.

Opening Dec. 25, 47 Ronin is directed by Carl Rinsch, and also stars Rinko Kikuchi, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Hiroyuki Sanada.
