Though her screen time was short, her role was important in the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” film, and Karen Gillan's Nebula will certainly be featured more as the Marvel movies go further. In fact, her role as Gamora's adopted sister will continue on past the “Guardians” franchise and into "Avengers: Infinity War."

In a recent interview with BBC News to promote her directorial debut “Tupperware Party” Villain spoke very briefly about her role as Nebula in the “Guardians” franchise, and reminded fans that they can look forward to the sequel to the before dropping this tiny tease: "And then I’ll be making a little appearance in the next Avengers movies."

Yep, that’s it, unfortunately. While it’s not truly groundbreaking news, it’s still nice to have some kind of confirmation on just who might be in “Avengers: Infinity War”. As we know, the movie will supposedly feature nearly the entire cast of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, so getting to narrow it down - even by one - is very much appreciated.

Of course, it does make sense for Gillan’s Nebula to appear in the “Avengers” film, as she is the adopted daughter of Thanos in the MCU. Her character also plays an incredibly major role in the original “Infinity Gauntlet” comic; in that series, Thanos assembled the six Infinity Gems, builds the Gauntlet, and then proceeded to rule the universe. Nebula is one of his earliest victims, in fact, falling in dramatic fashion to the power of the Gauntlet.

Opening May 5, 2017, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Kurt Russell. Opening May 4, 2018, “Avengers: Infinity War” features a sprawling ensemble cast that’s so far confirmed to include Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Jeremy Renner, Benedict Cumberbatch and Brie Larson, among others.
