This year, "Justice League" director Zack Snyder is feeling very generous for his birthday. The "Batman v Superman" director uploaded a first look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman in his natural habitat: the sea. The test footage itself is grainy, but shows Aquaman swimming to meet another character in his underwater kingdom. The footage originally appeared on Vero, the same social media app that Snyder used to release his "Star Wars"/"Batman v Superman" mashup “Dark Side Knight v Superjedi: Dawn of the Alliance.”RELATED: Justice League Goes Behind the Scenes in New Set Video

There’s no word yet on who this other character might be, as the details are limited, but io9 points out that the armor does resemble that of Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother, who will be played by Patrick Wilson in the "Aquaman" film. First appearing in 1966's “Aquaman” #29, Orm -- who goes by Ocean Master -- has recently begun sporting heavy metal armor similar to that seen in the six-second clip.

Little is known about Aquaman’s role in the upcoming “Justice League,” which sees Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince assembling a team of superheroes to defend the Earth against the otherworldly threat of Steppenwolf and his Parademon troops as they hunt for ancient alien technology.

Debuting in theaters November 17, “Justice League” is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller.
