The wait may be over for long-suffering fans — according to 411Mania, the hit Cartoon Network series will return with FOUR (rumored) brand new episodes on January 1st entitled “Flash and Substance,” “Dead Reckoning,” “Patriot Act” & “The Green Brain Robbery.”
Speaking of animated series, Comics Continuum notes that “Kids’ WB! is pre-empting the weekday episodes of ‘The Batman’ next week, leaving just a rebroadcast for Saturday morning. ‘MegaMan NT Warrior: Axess’ will air instead of ‘The Batman’ in the 3:30 p.m. weekday time period. The only episode of ‘The Batman’ will be a repeat of “A Fistful of Felt” on Saturday, Dec. 3.”
More animation news? All right then — this page at Toon Zone notes that the Dog of Steel will be joining many other Cartoon Network shows in having a holiday special, which will air all through next month starting on December 5th.
Let’s keep it Kryptonian for a moment. ABC News reports on the production heading to Newcastle. “Part of the civic precinct of Newcastle, on the NSW central coast, will be transformed into an American streetscape today, to allow filming of scenes for the latest Superman movie. King Street will be closed to traffic between Darby and Union streets from midday AEDT until midday on Friday.”
More disturbingly, the Superman Homepage has photos of the first merchandising tie in, Ken and Barbie dolls based on the film.
We are managing a kind of theme today, aren’t we? The WB released photos of the party held to celebrate taping the show’s 100th episode (the old fashioned magic number for syndication), complete with performances by the band March Hare and a singing Lex Luthor. Seriously.
Meanwhile, the Kryptonsite spoilers page has been updated with a change in title for a January episode and a character name change for one in February.
QUIET ON THE SET
Here’s where you get in on the action. Did you see a link we didn’t catch? Have you snuck into a closed movie set, and have inside data? Maybe your cousin is dating somebody who knows something, and they had to tell you? Whatever it is, we wanna know it all — fire off an email and let us know whether you want your name used or your contributions to geekdom to go down anonymously. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is novelist/reviewer/karaoke host/all-around lunatic Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, and [tagline sent back to development hell until something hipper can be dreamed up].
