"Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow has landed a deal for his sci-fi thriller "Intelligent Life" at DreamWorks Pictures, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Written with collaborator Derek Connolly, the film is said to be rooted in their earlier project "The Ambassador," which followed a UN worker whose goal was to represent humankind to alien life. He later falls in love with an extraterrestrial. Originally, "The Ambassador" was intended to follow up the duo's indie film "Safety Not Guaranteed."

Trevorrow and Connolly will work with Steven Spielberg on "Intelligent Life." "Jurassic World" producer Frank Marshall is also attached.
