Sony Pictures, has out-of-this-world plans for its third Jump Street film. According to The Wall Street Journal, leaked emails from the recent studio hack indicate the idea is for the undercover cops played by Jonah Hill Channing Tatum to team up with the Men in Black.

MIB stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones would most likely not feature prominently in the crossover, but Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller would produce and possibly helm.

Hill seemed to like the idea, writing to Sony Pictures Co-Chairman Amy Pascal: “jump street merging with mib i think that’s clean and rad and powerful." Another message from Columbia Pictures' Hannah Minghella noted the project's status: “We don’t have a script yet so we’ll be greenlighting the movie off the concept and the talent involved.”

This move would continue the blockbuster success of the Jump Street franchise while also rejuvenating Men in Black. The third film in that series apparently lost money for the studio, even after earning $624 million worldwide.
