A new -- and rather intense -- image from Josh Brolin's Instagram promises laughs in the upcoming Deadpool 2, though the image indicates that Cable may be a bit unhinged in the film.

Brolin shared a black and white image of himself screaming into a cracked mirror, along with the message, "Oh my God, wait until you see 'Deadpool'. It's SO funny!!!" #L2 #cableinsanity #cableswole #cablepowered #cableporn."

Ryan Reynolds, who plays the movie's title character, shared the first images of Brolin as Cable in August. The initial photos featured the popular time-traveling mutant carrying a teddy bear along with his signature oversized guns, fueling speculation that Hope Summers would play some role in the film.

Cable debuted in 1986 as Nathan Summers, the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor, a clone of the psychic Jean Grey, in Uncanny X-Men #201. The character first appeared as an adult operating under the moniker of Cable in 1990 in New Mutants #87. He's known best as the leader of X-Force, which has also counted Domino and Deadpool among its members. Cable tends to play the straight man when teaming up with the comedic Deadpool. The introduction of Cable and Domino in Deadpool 2 will help to pave the way for Fox's planned X-Force film franchise.
