Just like clockwork, the first official images of Josh Brolin as Cable are followed by the arrival of the Oscar nominee on the Vancouver, British Columbia, set of Deadpool 2.

Published by Just Jared, the shots capture the actor in full costume, and armed with the time-traveling mutant's signature over-sized rifle. The photos also depict co-star Zazie Beetz as Domino, as well as one of Brolin's previously spotted stunt doubles.

As noted earlier, Brolin and his stunt double appear to be clad in a tattered parka similar to the one worn by Cable as he raced through time with the infant Hope Summers, fanning speculation that the Fox sequel could introduce that character and borrow from Marvel Comics' "Messiah Complex" storyline.

Principal photography has been under way on Deadpool 2 in Vancouver for nearly a month, with Beetz arriving on the set just last week. With Brolin joining the Atlanta actress and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, all three key players are in place for the Fox sequel.

Directed by David Leitch (John Wick), Deadpool 2 sees the return of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, Julian Dennison in an unknown role, and Jack Kesy as a villain widely thought to be Black Tom Cassidy. The film opens June 1, 2018.
