Good for Jonah Hill for rising past his beginnings as the obnoxious, bitingly sarcastic fat kid. He’s all set to team up with Mark Wahlberg on an action-comedy that’s more action than comedy, called The Good Time Gang, based on what two unnamed sources told the Los Angeles Times at least.
The project is described as a new spin on the Lethal Weapon series. Hopefully that means there’s no room in the cast for hateful bigots. It apparently does mean that our two mismatched cops will be replaced by mismatched mercenaries and part-time party animals. Trouble ensues for the duo when one learns that he is related to a terrorist targeted in their latest assignment.
Good Time Gang will be produced by RCR Pictures, with a script from Max Landis, son of The Blues Brothers writer/director John Landis.
