Disney's upcoming adaptation of The Jungle Book has found its director: Jon Favreau.

The Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and Cowboys & Aliens filmmaker is in negotiations to direct The Jungle Book for Disney, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Justin Marks is writing the script, with no producers, production date or release date announced at this time.

However, Favreau brings enough name recognition and star power to give a sense of what the project might look and feel like, as well as who might star in the picture. Could we see some Favreau regulars like Robert Downey Jr. or Vince Vaughn on the scene? We'll have to wait and see.

The Jungle Book is based on author Rudyard Kipling's classic collection about a young boy named Mowgli raised by wolves in the jungles of India.
