"The Walking Dead" alum Jon Bernthal, who'll of course next be seen on Netflix's "Daredevil," has joined the ensemble cast of Edgar Wright's heist comedy "Baby Driver."

The film stars Ansel Elgort as Baby, a young, talented getaway driver who relies on the beat of his own soundtrack to shield him from the chaos surrounding him. But when he's coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a heist gone wrong threatens his life and freedom.

According to Deadline, Bernthal will play the key role of Griff. "Baby Driver" also stars Jon Hamm as Buddy, the handsome party animal; Eiza Gonzalez as Darling, Buddy's scandalous girlfriend and partner in crime; Jamie Foxx as Bats, a gun-slinging cohort; and Lily James as Deborah, Baby's innocent love interest.

The film recently began shooting in Atlanta with an eye toward release on March 17, 2017.
