After suffering an injury last month that shut down production of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," has returned to the film's Australian set -- an occasion producer Jerry Bruckheimer marked with the release of the first photo from the Disney sequel.

"Captain Jack is back and we're not letting him go," he tweeted.

Directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning, the film follows Captain Jack Sparrow as he seeks out the legendary Trident of Poseidon in an effort to survive deadly ghost pirates who have escaped the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea.

Depp is joined by fellow franchise veterans Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally and Stephen Graham, as well as newcomers Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites and Golshifteh Farahani. “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” arrives July 7, 2017.
