Inspired by the popular Disney parks ride of the same name, the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise came full circle Wednesday as star Johnny Depp surprised Disneyland visitors with an appearance by Captain Jack Sparrow.RELATED: "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" Video Confirms TheoryDressed in full costume, Depp made his way through the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The reactions of guests were captured in videos that quickly circulated around social media.

In the clips, Depp chats with guests, and seems to have a good time doing so. The fifth installment of the film series, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” will receive its world premiere May 11 at the Shanghai Disney Resort in China.

In “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow is pursued by old rival Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), who has escaped from the Devil’s Triangle with his ghost crew, and is now determined to kill every pirate at sea. To defeat him, Jack must seek the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that grants whoever possesses it total control of the sea.

Directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg from a script by Jeff Nathanson, the film also stars Geoffrey Rush as Hector Barbossa, Brenton Thwaites Henry, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs, Golshifteh Farahani as the sea-witch Shansa, David Wenham as Scarfield, Stephen Graham as Scrum and Orlando Bloom as Will Turner.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” arrives May 26 in North America.
