Fresh off his work on Superman: Year One with Frank Miller, DC artist John Romita Jr. has revealed the next character in DC's portfolio he'd like to work on: Wonder Woman.

Speaking with CBR on his reunion with Brian Michael Bendis in Action Comics, Romita discussed his enjoyment of the character and his desire to work on a Wonder Woman story.

"I had done her specifically just as part of the Justice League and as a secondary character in Superman: Year One and having her appear as she did so larger than life," said Romita. "I just enjoy the character and would love to do the character on a regular basis. And I'm not afraid to say the character is just as iconic as Superman or Batman, and I haven't done her as a main character or on a title and I'd love to. She's a great character"

Romita was unaware that his Superman: Year One partner Frank Miller had also expressed interest in writing Wonder Woman in the past, and that he'd be open to collaborating with Miller again on a project starring the character.

"Did he really say that? That's fantastic! I hadn't considered it but, of course, I'd love to work with Frank," Romita said. "There's a handful of guys that I would drop what I'm doing and work with them, and Frank's one of them. It would be outstanding to work on that great character with that great writer."

John Romita, Jr. and Brian Michael Bendis' reunion on Action Comics begins with issue #1017, on sale now from DC Comics.
