After a storied career as an artist, a writer and an editor, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada is moving into new territory: directing.

He makes his directorial debut with "Slingshot," the “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” spinoff that launches Tuesday on ABC apps and ABC.com. The six-episode digital series focuses on Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez (Natalia Cordova-Buckley) and her time between Season's Three and Four of the ABC drama.

Revealed by IGN in a behind-the-scenes video, we learn that Clark Gregg's Coulson will be along for the journey, with possibly other "S.H.I.E.L.D." cast members stopping by. We also find out that Gregg is a huge fan of Quesada's, calling him a "one of the legendary Shaolin ninja priests of Marvel." While he may be well known to comic fans, Cordova-Buckley, had never heard of one of Marvel's head honchos, and was only informed of his identity during filming.

The episodes, which run between three and six minutes, will be released simultaneously, allowing fans of the show still reeling from the midseason finale, to binge a short story set within the same episode.

Returning Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Chloe Bennet as Daisy “Quake” Johnson, Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May, Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, and Henry Simmons as Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie.
