"The Grey's" Joe Carnahan will write and direct the action-thriller "Motorcade" for DreamWorks Pictures.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the long-developing film centers on a Secret Service agent who fails to prevent an attack on the U.S. president's motorcade.The studio bought the pitch in 2004 from Hans Bauer ("Anaconda," "Titan A.E.") and Craig Mitchell ("Highwayman"), with writers Ehren Kruger, Billy Ray and Robert Rodat taking a pass at the script at one point or another.Carnahan, who pitched a "Daredevil" reboot to Fox before the rights reverted to Marvel Studios, also directed "Narc," "Smokin' Aces" and "The A-Team" movie.
