Artists Jim Lee and Tony Daniel have shared their variant covers for DC Comics' Dark Nights: Metal #4, one depicting Batman's fight against zombified Superman, and the other featuring Sandman front and center.

DC Entertainment's co-publisher, Lee has provided covers for the previous three issues of the series, which centers on an invasion of the DC Universe by the Dark Multiverse, spearheaded by the bat-god Barbatos and his Dark Knights. In Issue 4, by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Batman is trapped within the Dark Multiverse and must fight his way past the undead Men of Steel.

Daniel, meanwhile, offers a cover that includes the return of Sandman following appearances in the first two issues of the series. He may be teaming up with Batman and Superman, because it appears Barbatos is as powerful as ever.

Andy Kubert will also provide a cover for Dark Nights: Metal #4 that depicts a fight between Wonder Woman and Ra's al Ghul.

Solicitations for the next chapter of the series reveals new questions and intrigue:

The Justice League has been broken and scattered to the far corners of the DCU, each member forced to face their worst fears alone…and the fears are winning. When an unlikely ally reveals a glimmer of hope, they must seize their chance, or risk their window of opportunity closing for good!

After a planned break in November, Dark Nights: Metal #4 hits shelves on Dec. 30.
